Transformers how many films

Each film follows the last, with LaBeouf starring in the first three films and Whalberg being introduced in the latter two. So starting with Bumblebee may mean for some that they start the series at its high point with the level of quality dropping over the many of the sequels.

The counter-argument to this is that the series has made a staggering amount of money, and with four sequels, there is clearly a target audience that these films cater to, who will keep coming back for more rounds of Decepticons and Autobots fighting it out. While not as exhausting as some other franchises, these are clearly the best options for watching the Transformers films in order.

It does look like the franchise is setting itself up for several timelines co-existing at once, so it is worth noting the options in which to view the franchise as the timeline gets more complex over the coming years.

It's a simple yet powerful fix that should have been implemented very early on in the franchise. Without a comprehensive plot, the movies became artificial and reliant on non-stop action, supermodels, and explosions to keep the audience's attention. Not a good formula for longevity to say the least.

The movies could have adapted stories from the G1 cartoon, the film, Beast Wars , Armada They chose not to and opted instead for a new original story, reinventing the wheel so to speak; because of this, the movies took very little inspiration from the canon. To many fans, this was extremely problematic as the films were disrespecting—and to an extent ruining—their childhood memories of the franchise. The movies were so different from the original material that they lost much of their spark and appeal.

Michael Bay loves explosions and it's very apparent in his Transformers movies. In practically every action scene, there were at least explosions. Explosions are great, and they clearly had their place in these movies, but he undoubtedly overdid it.

Like many other things in the Bay films, it's eye candy and really has no substance to it. At a certain point, it just isn't impressive anymore. Too much effort was expended on making huge awesome explosions that it took away from practically everything else in the films. After a bonkers prologue establishing how the Transformers were essential allies to King Arthur, Transformers: The Last Knight flashes forward to an era set relatively close to the present and set an unspecified amount of time after Transformers: Age of Extinction. Yeager is now helping Autobot refugees in his junkyard while Optimus Prime, lost in space on a hunt for his creators, is captured by the nefarious Quintessa Gemma Chan and turned evil.

Soon, Prime and Yeagar are competing in a race against time to secure an ancient sword, which Prime intends to use to revive Cybertron, destroying Earth in the process. While on a quest to save the day, Yeager and new love interest Vivian Wembley Laura Haddock discover an organization led by Sir Edmund Burton Anthony Hopkins dedicated to protecting the secret that Transformers were involved in every significant event in human history.

Though we are told that the shapeshifting robots were involved in everything from the Underground Railroad to the life of William Shakespeare, the only instance of this phenomenon the audiences get to see is a brief flashback depicting Bumblebee fighting alongside Allied forces in World War II.
